Although this practice is 30 years old, Dr Tarantino came at the beginning of 1982 - it was a small 500 square foot office within the hamlet of Hopewell at the time. In the mid 1990`s, the practice just outgrew the physical space of the office and Dr Tarantino, along with an orthodontist, built a professional building one mile north of the center of Hopewell on Rte. 82. |

Laser vision correction
Laser Vision Correction is the most exciting procedure to come upon the eyecare market in the last three years. Our office is intimately involved and carefully screens patients sincerely interested in this method of vision correction.
Our pre-operative procedure involves a minimum of two visits. Our post-operative follow-up care is a minimum of five visits within one year of surgery.
There are two very important factors our office considers in the use of the surgeon performing your Laser Vision Correction: one is the surgeon`s experience (Laser Vision Correction procedures required skills that the surgeon learns through hundreds of operations) and the second is his/her success rate. Ideally, LASIK has a learning curve of about 500 cases and you attain this in a dedicated Laser Vision Correction practice.
Screening the patients is very important and some of the considerations explored for the prospective surgery candidate are:
Patient expectation - What do you expect and what can actually be delivered.
Refractive error - Can the patient be corrected to 20/20? We discuss presbyopia (the need for reading glasses) before surgery is performed.
