John Mills Electric, Inc. has been serving Elmira, NY and surrounding areas with quality electrical services for more than 60 years. The business was founded in 1945 by Frank Cady and operated as Cady Electric, Inc., through 1978. In June of 1978, the business was sold to John W. Mills and incorporated as John Mills Electric, Inc. and continues today under the management of his son, Lindsay T Mills.
Since 1978, the company has grown from 6 total employees with sales of $600,000 to a company with sales in excess of $8 million and employment ranging from 30 to 60 depending on workload. Our geographical area has increased from our home base in Chemung County to Upstate and Central New York as well as to the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania.
In 2004, we were proud to announce the opening of our Ithaca, NY branch office. This office will allow us to serve our customers in central New York with greater efficiency and increase our customer base. Today you will find our electricians working in houses, health care facilities, prisons, schools, shopping plazas and colleges. Our abilities include high voltage wiring, power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, sound and public address, security alarm, tele/data and much more.
