Kids Choice Pre-School
Kids Choice Pre-School was established in 1999 as a group family and has expanded to a center with further expansion plans in process.
The goal of Kids Choice Pre-School and its staff is to provide an affordable child care service to low income and underserved families. Additional goals are to provide a rich and healthy environment where children can grow and learn in a comfortable age appropriate setting.
Emphasis is placed on the act of nurturing children in a friendly environment for their growth and development.
All staff members are enrolled in monthly video conferences that are presented by the Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) in addition to monthly staff development seminars.
Each child benefits from the variety of activities provided: visits to cultural sites, the zoo, entertainment, (petting zoo, theme parties, clowns, craft activities, educational activities). Parents and staff participate in classes regarding issues in child care/child development and referral sources for assistance, provided by professionals (dentists, nurses, etc.).
Kids Choice provides a safe clean environment for children to learn and play and is always maintained in an orderly fashion. The ratio of children to staff allows for individual attention for children when needed, which is very important.
The staff members at Kids Choice are caring, competent, empathetic and flexible in their child care methods. The director Beverly Donaldson and her staff have always offered an open door policy to allow parents to visit during child care hours, to observe interaction between staff and children during operating hours.
As an added service to the community, Kids Choice Pre-School has collaborated with Queens Comprehensive Perinatal Council, Inc. (QCPC), in ongoing asthma-tracking workshops that has been well received by the parents of children enrolled in the center. Call us at
