American Craft Museum
For nearly half a century, the Museum of Arts & Design has served as the country's premier institution dedicated to the collection and exhibition of contemporary objects created in clay, glass, wood, metal and fiber. The Museum celebrates materials and processes that are today embraced by artists in the fields of craft, art and design. The Museum of Arts & Design offers an ideal midtown location for corporate events and personal entertaining. The Museum space combines elegance, warmth, and flexible design to provide a distinctive and delightful environment. The entrance lobby's high ceilings and glass front create a dramatic, expansive atmosphere. A sculptural, curved staircase leads from the entrance to the upper and middle galleries in split-level fashion. From the middle gallery, it widens into a final curve, ending in a small atrium and the intimate lower gallery. Hardwood gallery floors and terra-cotta tiling in the atrium add to the quiet beauty of the space. Facility: The Museum comfortably accommodates 50-350 guests for receptions, up to 160 for seated luncheons and dinners, 150 for a seated dinner with dance floor, 600 for a cocktail reception, 200 for a buffet -style lunch or dinner, and 200 in a theater-style environment. Availability: The Museum is available for private functions after public hours. Events may be scheduled starting at 6 p.m. Breakfasts may be scheduled between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. throughout the week.
